Looks so sweet..looks can be deceiving!!
I had just sat down last night ready to enjoy some trashy TV, got myself comfy, dog magazine to hand ( yes I know I’m sad!!) , cup of coffee at the ready and let out a contented tired sigh.
As if that was a cue Rudy decided that although he had been fast asleep it suddenly became imperative he go outside for a wee…right that minute..he absolutely had to…he couldn’t possibly hold it any longer!!!
So begrudgingly I heaved myself off the sofa ( that cream and jam doughnut weighing heavy!!) and let them both out into the garden, whereupon they both stood like statues sniffing the air noses pointed skyward. Hmm so no huge bladder issue??? Maybe they both just fancied a breath of fresh air???
It started me thinking of all the little quirks my dogs and no doubt most people’s dogs have..all their funny ways and odd behaviour. I’ve listed a few below;
1..Why when Rudy and Rio have access all morning to clean drinking water do they leave that and instead choose to drink dry the muddiest , dirtiest, filthiest most foul smelling puddle on the hill??
2..When you get back from a walk and your dogs are soaking wet and muddy, why do they wait ’til they are INSIDE to shake the worst of it off??
3..When out on a walk why do they choose a spot in front of other people to do what comes naturally whilst daring them to look??
4..While walking through urban areas, housing estates, streets with shops etc why do they cock their legs at the most inopportune times i.e on someone’s prize begonia or their pushbike left leaning on the wall of their house??
Ditto!!!
5..After they have eaten why do they run through the front room wiping their mouths on the furniture?? ( Or is that just Rudy and Rio??)
6..Why do they jump up at people that clearly don’t like dogs / are wearing pale trousers??
7.. When they have the whole of the hill or Racecourse or open fields to play in, why do they choose to run with other dogs in ever decreasing circles around your feet until they trip you up??
8..How are they suddenly and inextricably struck deaf just when you need them to come back??
9..When you have just done something amazing with your dog, why do they appear totally confused and struck dumb when you try to show someone else??
10..And finally… Why oh why do they just LOVE the fetid, rancid, stomach churning, nausea inspiring stench..sorry perfume..of Fox poo. The thicker the variety and the more they can roll in and wriggle about in the better??!!
